What Are Bentonite Waterproofing Panels?
At Alpha Insulation & Waterproofing, our bentonite waterproofing system is made from panels that encase a thin layer of sodium bentonite clay between two layers of fabric, one that is permeable and one that is not. When the panel is exposed to water, the bentonite swells to as much as 10 times its initial volume, sealing any nearby imperfections in the sealing surface. Bentonite panels form a self-healing waterproofing surface that is virtually impermeable to water and a variety of chemicals.
