Types of Insulation We Install in Atlanta Buildings

Batts/Blanket Insulation
This is what you likely think of when you first think of insulation. Fiberglass or mineral wool batts and blankets are used most commonly to insulate exterior and interior walls against heat, moisture and sound. Combined with blankets, these panels provide exceptional R-value and can be stacked for additional insulation if necessary.
Semi-Rigid Insulation
A higher-density variant of traditional batts, semi-rigid insulation is often used with spandrel glass panels to further enhance the exterior building envelope’s R-value; that is, to make sure outside air stays outside and inside air stays inside.
Rigid Insulation
Mostly used for thermal insulation on concrete block walls or to insulate refrigeration units, rigid insulation boards are made of polystyrene or polyisocyanurate in most cases.
Spray Insulation
Spray insulation refers to several different insulation products, including cellulose, fiberglass and polyurethane, applied via a mechanical spray device. These are usually used to insulate surfaces where it’s unnecessary or not viable to secure the insulation, such as filling up walls in a retrofit, insulating out-of-sight basement or maintenance areas, etc.
Safing insulation is a specific type of mineral wool insulation, installed atop wall headers and along the slab edge between floors and used with firestopping products to provide insulation while enhancing hourly fire ratings for the assembly. We’re a certified applicator of Factory Mutual products.
