Dallas TowerDallas Tower

Dallas Tower, recently renamed "The Element", is a 15-story mid-rise residential tower located in the heart of the Main Street District of downtown Dallas. The project was designed around the principles of Joseph Eichler, which include his sloping roofs and windows. The building is expected to attract new office tenants and apartment residents to the Main Street District, while at the same time revitalizing the downtown Dallas skyline. Hensel Phelps Construction contracted with Alpha Insulation and Waterproofing to provide the fluid applied air barrier, metal flashing system and sealants on the building's exterior skin, hot applied waterproofing system on the plaza deck, sprayed insulation in the parking garage and the spray applied fireproofing on the structural steel at the roof. Alpha Insulation & Waterproofing won the "2008 Excellence in Construction Award" from the Dallas ABC Chapter for our work on the project.

The University's latest addition to the home of the UT Longhorns, a $27 million expansion and renovation project, included the construction of a new Football Academic Center, a new Hall of Fame, and the addition of 4,525 permanent bleacher seats. This allowed the stadium to become the first football stadium in Texas capable of seating in excess of 100,000 persons and brought the stadium to its current seating capacity of 100,119. Alpha worked with Hensel Phelps delivering the Spray and Acoustical insulation along with the structural steel fireproofing on an extremely compressed schedule to complete the project prior to the following football season.

Located at Fort Bragg, NC, this US ARMY Corps of Engineers, 700,000 square foot, $288 million project upon completion will become the headquarters for United States Army Forces Command as well as the US Army Reserve Command designated to train, mobilize and deploy ready ground forces to meet operational requirement of our nation. Alpha provided the General Contractor Hensel Phelps a multi-crew team installation of Spray Fire Resistive Materials upon the structural steel of this 5 story structure. Alpha simultaneously provided another sub-contractor Precision Walls, Inc. of Raleigh, NC, services and materials to complete approximately 140,000 square feet of Polystyrene Rigid Installation at the exterior walls.

The Ft. Sam Houston METC Dormitories, located on the Army base of Fort Sam Houston, consists of three four-story dormitories that will house 1200 students in each to total over one million square feet of living area. These dormitories were constructed from a unique combination of modular wood frame living units and conventional commercial construction for the common areas. Alpha provided spray applied fireproofing on the structural steel in the common areas for Hensel Phelps, while simultaneous providing fiber glass insulation in the exterior and interior walls and firestop systems on the fire-rated interior partition of the common areas as a second-tier subcontractor.

Atlanta, GA

Atlanta's Hartsfield Jackson International Airport is the busiest airport in the world (In 2007 Atlanta's Airport had 994,466 flight operations.) To control all the traffic, Hensel Phelps was contracted to build the tallest Air Traffic Control Tower in the United States. At over 398 feet tall, this state of the art facility was completed in 2006. Hensel Phelps teamed with Alpha to install spray fireproofing, deck coatings, joint sealants, and sheet membrane waterproofing systems. Through creative processes, and skilled workers, Alpha overcame the obvious difficulties of working and installing these systems in confined spaces, 398 feet up in the air.

The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHSC-H), is the largest and most comprehensive academic health science institution in Texas. It is composed of six schools including dental, medical, nursing, public health, biomedical sciences, and health information sciences. This is the $155 million dental branch addition to the UT Health Science Center in Houston's Medical Center. Alpha is providing the services of the installation of the spray fire resistive materials for the project.
